RHochreuter
Hey guys, How do you remove the 6 flywheel bolts? Obviously the flywheel spins when applying some Nm to the flywheel bolts What is the best solution? I have the following ideas, but i don't know if it will work: 1) Ask a friend to counter the movement of the crank by locking the crankshaft from the front 2) Fabricating a tool that locks the flywheel teeths
Nick85
When I removed a Nissan note flywheel I placed a double end open spanner one end in the ring gear teeth and the other end on a notch sticking out the engine block, it locked the flywheel to undo the bolts. Primitive I know but it done the trick. Not sure it will work on your engine but the ideas there
Ian C
Stick a bar between the bolt heads on the flywheel to brace it. Obviously not the one you're currently trying to undo though
Chris Wilson
Air gun. If you don't have one a big screwdriver or some sort of jemmy or bar in the flywheel starter teeth.
RHochreuter
Thx. I locked the the flywheel with my Toyota SST for Crank Pulley removal. The long metal stick with a hole in one end worked out perfectly. I didnt have a socket to fit the flywheel bolts, so i had to remove it by hand with a wrench
