What brake/power steering fluid to use?

i am going to be carrying out a full service on my car in the very near future (all fluids changed) and need to change out the brake fluid and power steering fluid.

Now on the car the caps for the reservoirs state that dot3 should be used

BUT in the fluid guide off the technical guides section it states that you should use dot4.

1st question is which is correct?

(i am running a 94' NA)

do i run the risk of damage to the power steering pump or brake servos if i use the wrong one?

5.1 for both?

Just a little concerned that the toyota spec says dot3 for the brake fluid. I am running standard j-spec brakes at the mo and do not intend to track the car.

also worth mentioning that i have ABS.

Will a higher grade fluid damage the pumps etc. (power steering or brake cylinder)??

i am a novice in terms of brake and power steering fluid, so i am sorry if these are stupid questions.

A *good* Dot4 brake fluid for the brakes and the clutch, buy enough to do a complete flush on both systems.

DexronIII for the power steering.
