Guest BradD
Thanks guys Does anyone know what driveshaft setup I need? I heard I need the front from the soarer and rear part from a supra. N/A or TT??
LOGIE
member called straightsix is your man for answers he built his a few years ago, Can a supra autobox be used instead of a soarer one? just curious as I was going to try this years ago but hate myself for never actually doing it. dr_jekyll
the supra bok should bolt up to the soarer bell housing iirc . then you can use that . i think

LOGIE
What about one of David P's hybrid boxes?
Guest BradD
I want to keep the costs down to a minimum so will stick to stock box as much as I can. I'm not sure if the box is perfect but I'll see. Never tested it when I bought the soarer but only worry was because the gearbox oil was pretty dark and there are lots of tiny particles of metal found on the filter. If you rub your finger over you can see the miniscule pieces of what I could only think is worn gear metal?

Guest Raven
Those miniscule metal particles would be in line with gearbox oil which has never been changed, Im sure it will be fine with new fluid....even without The V8 is excellent as a daily, smooth, decent mpg and when the road does open up.....very fun. Was hoping it was something smaller like that rather the need for a complete replacement. And yes I'm sure it'll be fantastic, really looking forward to completing this and getting it on the road
Herb
Just out of interest: How much wiring and electrical fiddling is involved to fit a 1UZ into a MKIV NA chassis?
Fly
Looks like the v8 conversion is becoming popular. Might even try and build a tt version on a stand to replace the na-t down the line
