Correct way to fit drilled/slotted discs?

its what they call the aggresive way , however look for markings on the discs sometime the direction is stamped. just because the vent looks vertical doesnt mean anything the internal passage is whats important . get that wrong and brake temps will sky rocket.

best to find out what brand they are and ask !

I'd have thought the other way round

I suppose it depends on the manufacturer. My rears are stock grooved and were on the way in the pic Dunk posted, but my front D2s came with a rotation direction diagram which indicated they should go the other way.

Just bought some big K-sport rears and I'll be fitting them the same as the fronts.

Bump on this..

Is it advisable to swap the brake discs from left to right after they have been on for a while? About 5000kms?

According to the manufacturer, mine is on wrong.

Shouldn't be a problem

I'd flat the pad faces down using some medium grit wet & dry paper held onto

a flat surface then re bed the pads in
