r2ck_p
Hi guys, I have had my Supra a few months now and noticed that when going over speed humps/pot holes I get feedback/vibration through the steering wheel. Also the steering seems really light compared to my previous car (RX8). If going over the same pot holes/speed humps in my RX8 there is little or no vibration felt through the steering wheel. So not sure if its just because my RX8 is a much newer car and the steering is a lot heavier or there is a problem with my Supra. Does anyone else get noticeable feedback/vibration through their steering wheel? Cheers
stevie_b
Over-light steering can be caused by a cheap and nasty (or broken) speed converter, which can over-assist the steering and prevent the PPS from working as intended.
Nic
I'd check the basics first, tyre pressures, tyre balance and wheel bearings. If it still doesn't feel right then I'd get it on a ramp, get all the suspension and subframe bolts checked/torqued up and all the suspension/steering components checked for wear. Dnk
How does it drive under normal conditions when not going over speed bumps ?
r2ck_p
Wasn't sure if I am being over critical and it was normal to get some vibration. I am due to take it to Chris Wilson for BPU upgrades, so may well get him to take a look while it is there. However it does have an MOT due first so possibly the MOT might pick something up. r2ck_p
How does it drive under normal conditions when not going over speed bumps ? Yeah absolutely fine, no steering vibration at any speeds in normal conditions. Only get it when going over speed hump or pot holes, this is even at very slow speeds. Ian C
Could be worn droplinks to your anti-roll bar, they can knock over bumps and potholes and you can feel it through the steering wheel.
