gaijin Posted September 27, 2012 Share Posted September 27, 2012 If you have carbon fibre battery cover fitted ,beware Had mine on for a couple of years Started car tonight let it idle for a few minutes Smelled a sweet smell opened the bonnet shouted WTF The cover around the positive terminal was on fire as was part of the plastic battery box Put it out ok Battery working ok have now found out that CF is highly conductive For some reason the cover had moved slightly and both terminals had touched causing a short circuit and a fire It was from Carbonmods Checked and doesn't seem to be on the site anymore Thought I'd post this as a heads up Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
