RB-GTE
So I removed the incredilby ugly Camry style OEM steering wheel, and replaced with a nice MOMO. What I did was unplug the airbag and removed it, then removed the steering wheel. For the MOMO after hooking up the HORN, the yellow wire/harness for the AIRBAG I just tucked behind the steering wheel hub on the MOMO... since this MOMO has no airbag. This airbag warning light is on the whole time now. I'm wondering what is the best way to get rid of it. http://imageshack.us/a/img841/4091/img20120925205230.jpg Edited September 26, 2012 by RB-GTE (see edit history)
Littler
Did you disconnect the battery before doing it? As you'll have to do the airbag/ecu trick if not: http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/airbag_light/airbag.htm
RB-GTE
Yes I definetley disconnected the battery I actually quickly searched up the online instructions since I never changed the Supra steering wheel before. Also I checked out the link on mkiv.com have no idea what I just read, may have to go check for myself to see what the whole AB TC thing is all about. Littler
Also just realised you haven't put a new steering wheel on with an airbag, so the connector isn't plugged in, maybe the way you can sort it is by removing the bulb from just behind? Suprab1
If you havn't got a steering wheel with an air bag then get a resistor & plug it into your airbag loom. This way your light will function the same as there was a bag in there & you should have no problems with MOT.
RB-GTE
The new steering wheel has no air bag. It's a 3 spoke MOMO race design. A resistor sounds like a good idea. So it tricks it into thinking there is an airbag plugged in Any idea where I could get one for the MKIV ? I searched and couldn't come up with anything. cheers Edited September 26, 2012 by RB-GTE (see edit history)

That was a though but when I turn the ignition key ON I'd prefer that all lights are operational. Then when the car is started it would shut off. The only person on here i can think of is hecklor i think is his user name, he does the LED conversion. I'm guessing your in UK? I've had to use them before to get cars threw the NCT test if the clock spring was faulty & bringing on the airbag light. If you have no luck let me know & i will try the lad where i get them & see if he can help.
mattdavies
Just stick THIS in the airbag connector
straightsix
If you only had a driver's airbag, you should just remove the bulb as there are no other airbags. If there's no airbags in the car, there's no need for the dash light for the MOT. I'm sure it's going to cause more concern to an observant individual that you have a dash light operating 'normally' for a piece of equipment that isn't there! If you have a passenger airbag you'll need to sort it or the airbag system will not work - ie the passenger airbag won't fire if there's an accident. You should also inform your insurance company as they may see it that you have removed safety equipment. Personally I would have updated with a stock toyota/lexus three spoke airbag wheel
RB-GTE
Yes I have the factory passenger airbag. So inorder for the passenger airbag to work, the airbag connector/resistor is what is basically needed?
sideexitsupra
You should have bought an airbag delete boss kit. You need to get a widget (resistor?) as others have said and then do the 2 wire trick. Even with the widget you will have to do this if you ever disconnect the top dash panel. Just reminded myself I need to reset mine again!
RB-GTE
A airbag delete boss kit is basically a wheel hub with a plug, and the airbag plugs into it so this will remove it? I'm fine with buying one, the MOMO I didn't pay anything I had it laying around.
