Yes they are, but as with all toyotas, its normally after some (ie a lot) mileage & age that they go wrong - yours is fairly new isnt Rob?

I agree with Matt. And the disasters on the sequential turbo front are usually from hoses popping off them rather than the VSV itself failing. The resources section also has a funky collection of annotated photo's describing which hose does what so you can hunt down any problems a bit easier. I don't recall the all-round-brill person who did that bit of work, though...
