listy
Right, I have searched on numerous occasions for this, but to no avail, and have asked a couple of members views, and they cant see a problem with this. Now I know some have gone the hybrid twin route, for circa 500bhp. What I'm asking is, can you upgrade the turbos on a stock sequential system, to something bigger and better, for say, 600bhp at around 1.4-1.6 bar boost with the aid of a stand alone ECU? Obviously with supporting mods (fuelling, cams etc) I couldnt see it being too hard to achieve (in theory) as effectively, all that is happening is the turbos are being replaced with ones that can handle more boost and spool faster. And unlike going single, the manifold etc (I pressume) could stay the same. Has anyone actually done this before? I know people will say "just go single" but I quite like the feel of the sequential system, and enjoy getting the second kick further in the rev range. So. Is it possible? Supra Kong
I think manifolds and heat would be your enemy!!!
johnny g
It has been done, by Speed 4 Sale in the US. A UK member has the kit and it's limited by the design of the exhaust manifold. The EGT's go through the rood at around 475bhp IIRC. Not worth doing. If you want stock or better response, go for a GTX30R on a log manifold. SupraDan24
I remember the thread with the guy who had the kit. I spoke to him and from what he told me, he ended up spending quite a bit of money, not much different cost wise from going single.
sideexitsupra
Don't the stock twins have a funny 3 bolt flange? Getting some alternatives to bolt on sounds like a major headache. Not questioning it, but why would egts go through the roof?
johnny g
The exhaust manifold is restrictive - as the larger volume of gas is expelled, it can't be pushed out quick enough and it begins to heat up.
RobD
There's a company on SupraForums that makes a big twin sequential kit called SP engineering I think they're called! Very expensive though!
