l.chris97
Guys Just finished up fitting my fmic tonight..everything went pretty as expected..but when i fitting the new small expansion bottle in place between the battery and wing..the lh headlight will not fit now as the expansion bottle is fouling of the outter bulb and both headlight studs...has anyone come across this problem before and have an alternative mounting place for the bottle or know an easy fix for this problem..any help would be great. Westy
Mine slotted straight in without issue, but you could always mount it on the opposing side as long as you aren't running the stock airbox!?
safcdixon
I just mounted mine slightly further back from the stock position, just held with 1 bolt rather than two, i couldnt mount mine behind the light either as my battary was too big
Kaan W
What are these tanks for as I dont think I have one
David P
The N/A expansion bottle is smaller and a perfect fit next to the battery.
l.chris97
Seems my battery is also to big as to even get the expansion bottle in place is a struggle even without the light in place.

l.chris97
What are these tanks for as I dont think I have one U must have one mate...its an overflow bottle to allow for the expansion of the engine cooling water...if you follow the little pipe beside your rad cap it will go to your expansion bottle. Kaan W
Are you talking about the rad overflow bottle? I thought you meant an overflow tank for the fmic
safcdixon
Did you use the mounting plate supplied mate an jus bolt it in place threw a hole on the cross member or front panel? Just the screw hole did it up tight as possible, as it doesnt hold much anyway one bolt is enough mines been there for nearly two year now

Kaan W
Yeah d rad ovrflow...when you fit a fmic the stock bottle has to be removed Ok. Thats probably why I dont have one and have just the pipe and cap hanging loose
l.chris97
Ok. Thats probably why I dont have one and have just the pipe and cap hanging loose Maybe best getting a bottle mate as the system can draw back from the bottle when needed also. listy
The expansion tank doesnt "have" to be relocated. Mine is still in stock position, with stock bracket. Its just held on with one bolt instead of two, and the bracket has been bent to allow the tank to sit above the fmic.
DaveR
An alternative is to mount the stock bottle longitudinally beneath the o/s headlight. It's not the most ideal location as you have to remove the headlight every time you want to check the level in the tank, but it is neat and out of the way. Bit of a hijack coming up: KaanW if you want the HKS relocation kit for the stock expansion tank that allows you to do all of that easily let me know and I'll send that with it.
