ripped_fear
Ok I haven't actually gone out and attempted this yet but wanted to ask a couple of questions, as searching hasn't proven use full. Basically I have bough a new OEM Handbrake set up, similar to the one pictured below, due to mine having a few marks on the leather. Now the thing is I don't know how to fit it. IIRC on the yellow crosses there is two bolts which hold the handbrake in place, but what I want to know is how to disconnect the handbrake cable and what is correct procedure of re installing it? (The red line indicating where the cable goes from memory.) Thanks In Advance. DodgyRog
I am guessing, but I would of thought you would open the shoes on your rear wheels to the max and then when the handbrake is in the released position there would be enough slack to release the cable This is just from doing a different car, so can't be sure it is the same on a Supra
ripped_fear
Thanks Rog you wouldnt happen to know about how I do such a thing do you? I feel another trip to my mechanic coming on if not
DodgyRog
Check in the repair manuals Jake, there a section in there on Handbrake adjustment, there might even be a section for removing the Handbrake Lever, but I have never noticed it http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/content.php?51-Repair-Manuals
Samurai 20V
I just released the handbrake, the cable is held by 2 nuts IIRC, assembled back in the same position.. Its pretty simple, you can judge it before you take the old one out.. Adjustment is done at the wheels...
