ray007
Hi all Been having on going problems with my project, 2jzgte jap spec prefacelft Initially I've been having problems with startin due to slight over-fueling/plugs getting wet and carbon deposits on them (new plugs) I did have the fuel pump running at 12v constant mod wich I've put back to stock, installed a new lambda as well. Now when startin the car with clean plugs, when turned off again the plugs needed cleaning of the carbon deposits before it could start, so I took out the plugs and cleaned them and re-installed... The car still took a long time to start but now there is a loud ticking/clicking noise seems to be coming from either the coils or injectors, and it gets louder as revved higher Has it by anychance got to do with the ecu (as I disconnected the batter)? Or maybe a faulty coil? I've constantly had the over fueling problem but never the ticking Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks in advance :-) Edited September 17, 2012 by ray007 (see edit history)
supraclaou
If you have installed bigger injectors, yes they do a kind of loud kliking sound... I have ID 1000cc injectors and they do this loud 'kliking' noise!

ray007
I've done a little research on the net apparently it's common to be a valve/shim Clearance problem??

dan294
They're not Iridium plugs are they? I am pretty sure once they are damaged from fouling, they are scrap.
Guest Tayousei
As one guy above mentioned, maybe you are having valve train noise from too large of a shim to cam clearance. It would go "tap-tap-tap-tap-tap" and speed up with engine revs as well. Might need a taller shim on one or a few lifters. Or oil could be low. Post a video?
