T2 MSW
Does anyone know what size socket is needed for the ARP head studs? I think they are imperial but I need to go and get one what ever they are as none of mine fit Mike Edited September 15, 2012 by T2 MSW (see edit history)

Kaan W
Are they not torx sockets? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pc-1-4-3-8-FEMALE-TORQUE-STAR-SOCKETS-BITS-SET-TORX-/250619029343?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3a5a0ee75f
Al Massey
Definitely not torque sockets,
T2 MSW
They are not a 14mm 12 point socket either as it simply slips round the nut. There is no way the 3/8s socket will fit in the recess to get the rest of the nuts off either. Can anyone who has done it with ARP head studs offer any advise? Al Massey
I did mine the other week, but I used my mates tools They were deep sockets, that I remember as mine wouldn't fit Will try find which socket, I was sure it was 14mm

absz
I had to machine my deep socket to fit in the recess, was unable to find a thin wall socket.
T2 MSW
ok so in this thread alone its a 14mm, a 13mm and a 12mm The below thread shows its not just a regular multi point http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?626062-ARP-Head-Studs-2JZ-GTE And the below shows it as a 13mm bi-hex http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/a80-mkiv-discussion/36298-2jz-arp-head-studs.html
T2 MSW
Massive thanks to LeeP for confirming they are indeed a 13mm hex/12 point socket thats needed. I have verfied with my 1/4 inch 13mm on the bolt I can get to and it is correct. You do need a 3/8 socket though as they appear to be the only ones that fit into the recess for the nuts. Cheers Lee I owe you a beer Edited September 17, 2012 by T2 MSW (see edit history)
RobD
I double checked today and yes, it was indeed a 13mm
