Swampy442
As per the title, got some tasty GS sport rims from mr Johnny G fitted with Michelin Pilot sports 265/40 on the rear, I seem to have arch clearance problems on my Soarer. Are you running 255s for a bit of stretch? 35 profile? Is it just the design of the Michelins? *Edit* Arch rolling is not an option.

SteveR
From memory I think I've got... 8" fronts: 245/40/18 (Pirelli P Zero Rossos as they scream long before they let go which helps find the grip levels - and are very progressive at/beyond the limit) 10" rears: 285/35/18 (Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 - great grip and progressive enough at the limit) Withs are right, I might need to check those profiles as I'm only sureish I've got them right. Dnk
On a 10" you could stretch a 255 on it, i'd be looking more for a tyre with a different sidewall that tapers in more, i'll have to check on my car but i'm think the Conti sports do this
David P
TTE Borbet 18" - front 8.5J ET 40 - rear 10J ET 45mm. On my Supra I am running 245 40's on the front and 285 40's at rear, with those the front is maxed but will go to 295 35's on the back. Steve its got 265s fitted now so a 255 wouldn't be that much of a stretch
garethr
265/40-18 are a little larger diameter (15mm) than the stock 225/55-16, and the GS wheels are ET45 (or is it 40 on the rear?) rather than ET50. Small differences, but they may add up. 265/35-18 would be a little smaller than standard (11mm). 265/40-17 (10mm smaller than std) Hankooks on ET50 Supra wheels seem to be OK on mine (not that it helps you much ). http://powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi Edited September 13, 2012 by garethr (see edit history)
Dnk
Surely you meant 255 stretched on to an 8" Dnk? No a 255 is the smallest width tyre you should fit on a 10" rim 255 is too big on an 8" rim which should have 225 or 235 fitted

Dnk
Heres some photos to give you an idea of how the sidewalls look The fronts are Conti Sport 3's and the rears are Bridgestone Potenza's Front are 255 on 9.5" wide rim Rear are 295 on 11.5" wide rim Edited September 13, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
AndrewOW
I run 245 (235/245/255) at the front and 275 (265/275/285) at the rear on mine.
Swampy442
Guessing the Soarer has a slimmer rear end than a Supra. Ill have a dig about and see what tyres have more sloping sidewalls. Anybody want some nearly new Pilot sports?
CanisLupus
245/40 and 275/35 is what Toyota intended on the GS Sport/TTE Rims

Swampy442
As above, 275 won't fit.
CanisLupus
255s will fit too if that's better. But i wouldn't go any thinner because it looks a bit stretched already and there is no protection for the rim with
Swampy442
Think Im going to find a slimmer sidewall 265 width tyre.
