Jake
Just got my new engine started! I'm so chuffed. It's the engine from Rob Oldham's VVTi Tiptronic that he rolled a year ago but it started first time once I'd sorted a slight problem with the fuel pump ecu connection. It's sounds really good so far but I haven't pushed it above tickover yet. Fingers crossed the torque converter will be ok too after my little mistake the other day. The PAS pump is whining like, umm, the ace of spades but I've only just topped it up and there's lots of air in there - so hopefully that will be ok. JustGav
Jake..... You didn't happen to get a spare ECU with it? I'm after an ECU for testing to see if mine is up the creek... Gav

Jake
YES! She's perfect! Blimey I'd forgotton how much grunt the VVTi engine has. I took it easy for the first 10 miles or so. She was smoking a bit to start with because the exhaust was still full of engine oil from where the original engine had blown up in such spectacular fashion. I stopped a couple of times to check gearbox and engine oil. The gearbox oil need topping up a little but I did that by the roadside and it's still fine now. It's a nice feeling when such a big task is over and completed successfully. I couldn't have done it with the help of mkivsupra.net members. Thanks a lot guys
