Front crank seal

I have just fitted new oil pump on Welshbuddy's car and put a new front crank seal in, i started the car then looked over the engine to make sure all was ok, I looked under the car and found oil pissing out from behind the crank pulley. I then quickly turned the engine off. After a bit of swearing i smoke and a cup of tea, i took the crank pulley back off to have a look whats gone on, my guess is i have pushed the crank seal in to far, i will get some pic's up tomorrow. Any idea's guys?

Cheers Matt.

Ok cheers. What the best way of removing the seal so i can put a new one in

Wrap a small screwdriver in tape and carefully prise out, but watch out you don't scratch the crank, alternatively you can try and screw in a small self tapping screw (you may have to use a small pilot drill if you go into the metal near the edge) and then use pliers to pull the seal out by the screw.
