pulley wobble

Sounds like the Crank Pulley bud, if it is, then don't mess around and get a new one, if it flies off it can wreck everything and you being NA-T it is going to be really expensive compared to just replacing the Pulley

There is a Tippex test, but if it is wobbly then it's pretty much guaranteed to be dead

The battery could just be flat, before you buy a new one jump start your car and take it for a

10 mile drive and when you get home you could find its re charged and fine.

I suffer this with not using my car very much and its always been fine once its been driven.

Ah bad times. I only had a new aux belt in may! And not done many miles. PITA! Though it's pretty cheap anyway. Bloody car... she better hit 400 when I get it tuned again or I'm gonna be miffed!

Just to make sure it's the crank pulley do the tippex test

Is this to see if the bearing moves inside the pulley then?

Yeah did it myself mate. Hardest part is getting the bolt off.

I used the breaker bar and starter motor trick to get mine off.

Put the breaker bar with required size socket on the bolt, and have the other end of the bar on the floor on the PASSENGER side. Turn the key in the ignition so the starter motor turns. DO NOT LET THE CAR TURN OVER!!!!!!!!! May have to do this a couple of times, I did.

Then just remove the bolt, remove the pulley (takes a bit of persuasion and wobbling to get it off) replace with new pulley, and replace bolt. The bolt needs to be torqued up, but cant off the top of my head remember what to!

I'll try find my old thread and find out.
