ashbuster
unusual thread title lol but i guess it made you look i was thinking of getting my exhaust repaired just for now because steve has a welder and lives right opposite (holes by backbox) but when i look at it somethings telling me it should hang low like that and im guessing i will have problems fitting my diffuser? any ideas how do yours hang Edited September 5, 2012 by ashbuster (see edit history)
Japlover
Mine hanged quite low until recently, even the pipe out the back looked low - it was the clips where the pipe connects to the back box and eroded so i got some cable ties for now..... works a treat

listy
I robbed a rubber hanger from a hire van at work. Not as big as the proper one, but holds it about 20mm higher. Works much better.
Guigsy
My diffuser was a tight fit. That looks similar
ashbuster
ahh nice one guys im guessing the diffuser cant touch the exhaust because of how hot it gets?
Guigsy
It's carbon not chocolate. My thinking is if it can take the heat of a f1 engine then the much lower temperatures of a supra exhaust will be fine. Mine is touching without a problem. ashbuster
ohh i didnt know that nice one mate i shouldnt have a problem then with speed humps, i thought there should be a gap between the diffuser and the exhaust. ill try and get the exhaust higher and fit it , after paint tho. the exhaust will be going, im not even sure what exhaust it is, it could be a universal one. but it will do for now untill i can get my new one
David P
If the diffuser hangs lower than your hung low exhaust, it won't live very long.
ashbuster
yeah thats what i thought, now i know it can touch the exhaust tho i should be ok , its so thin and my car just misses speed humps at the moment so with this only being about 3mm i should still be fine , i hope
David P
Exhaust pipe rattling against it is a bad idea, if your pal has a welder you could easily modify it to ride higher. Mine is 10mm from the sub-frame which is minimum clearance for a non rattle hang.
ashbuster
my exhaust has always felt solid, does everyone else back pipe bend like that?

d-_-b
Mines prob about 10/11" off the floor at the box, bit lower further towards the mid section; If something was gonna catch the floor though on mine it would be before then lool
