neilp9876
I know tyre questions are boring and I did search but I couldn't find what i needed after an hour. I need to replace some rear tyres that are currently 265/40/17 but will be for track use. Looking at camskill it appears that the popular sizes are either 255/40/17 or 275/40/17. Will the wider tyres fit in stock arches? Are the thinner tyres too thin for track use?
listy
What wheel width and offset do you have? I run 275 35 18 on the rear on a 9.5 wide wheel with a +35 offset. No problem.
dr_jekyll
275s should be fine as long as you dont have a silly offset and ride height
mellonman
as said 275 will fit but will be better fit with a 275 35 rather then the
T2 MSW
Think 275 you should get away with, 285s you will have to role the arches with a 35 offset.
neilp9876
I can't see any 275/35/17 on camskill so will have to be 275/40, not cheap though. It currently has 275/35/19 on it so I think they will be fine.

Dnk
What size width wise are your wheels ? Without knowing this you can't be advised as to what width tyre to buy that actually fits that size wheel correctly Edited August 30, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
listy
^^^this (again) 9.5 is the smallest width for 275 really.
James
^^^this (again) 9.5 is the smallest width for 275 really. Yep, I'm pretty happy with the 275 on my 9.5J wheel. I think it is +35 offset. Sits pretty well in the arch. Required a roll though as it was scrubbing initially. That is with 18s.
neilp9876
£500 for a pair of tyres! Is that normal? Is everyone paying that kind of money?
James
£500 for a pair of tyres! Is that normal? Is everyone paying that kind of money? Yeah that is pretty standard. Some tyres are a bit cheaper. Falken 452 tyres are great and aren't super expensive.
listy
You pay for what you get mate. Obviously budget types are a lot cheaper, but if you want good rubber, you have to fork out for it.
T2 MSW
About normal, thats why I cant get my head round why no one has bought my wheels I have up for sale with nearly new PZeros on - even if its just for the tyres they are cheap!? neilp9876
How much are your wheels? If they're £500 then I will take them off you.
