Need help, brake lights and Hazard lights don't work

As the heading states. My tail lights don't elluminate when the brake pedal is pressed, but the third light on the trunk works fine when the brake pedal is pressed. And all the tail lights work fine when the lights are on. Turn signals also work properly. I have checked the fuse under the driver side foot well and it is good (replaced it too with a new one). Another thing that doesn't work is my hazard lights when I push the button in on the dash. I have checked the fuse under the hood and it is good (replaced it too with a new one). This is on a 94 TT Supra. What else should I check? Please help.

Have you checked the plugs behind the dash?

Generally the indicators wont work full stop if the plug is disconnected, but if it has wiggled loose, might cause the hazards to not work.

The plug in question is behind the odo readout, top left of the dash (for UK/Jspec, may be opposite for us/euro spec)

As for the brakes, have you checked the bulbs, or the looms? Could be a loose connection in the plugs for the lights somewhere.

Yes I did check that plug, and reseated it. Tail lights are brand new with bulbs. Just bought a new set from Toyota. The old set of tail lights didn't work as well before I put the new set in.

Do your hazards work with the ignition on? Does the horn work? If not, it might be the 15amp Haz-Horn fuse that's gone.

As for the brake lights, the high mounted one doesn't go through the bulb failure module, but the other two do. However, the rear lights go through that as well and you say they work and they share the same earths, so it's probably the feed wire from the bulb failure module (pin 2, Red with white stripe) to the bulbs in the light cluster. See if that wire has got any power with the brakes on.

Thank you for your post. The hazard lights does not work with the ignition turned off or on. The 15amp fuse is good. i'm kinda at a loss for words as to what to check now. Thanks for the tip on the rear lights. I will give it a shot tonight and post my findings.

When I put the hazard lights on the signals do not work, the horn is also not working. I realized the horn was not hooked up from when I did the swap. The car is a US spec 94 Supra that had a NA motor and 5spd transmission in it. I pulled that drive train out and replaced it with a JSpec TT Supra motor out right hand drive TT Supra. I noticed that the harness where the horn is concerned was different. The harness had provisions on the driverside of the car, were the Jspec did not. So again, I am at a loss for where to check and how to get it back online.

Ah, well, if it's an NA to TT swap with harness changes and so forth, that changes the game considerably. Being a way aways from Canada I can only go by circuit diagrams and assume your car is wired up correctly, but all bets are off if you've had a serious transplant job :(

You're going to have to get busy with a multimeter, probe, and circuit diagrams. Pick a problem and trace the current path physically along the wires, from battery to switch to problem area. At some point you won't have power where you should have :)

I did check pin 2 on the Lamp Failure Senor and it had no power when the brake was applied. I probed the harness and saw that the green wire in that same connector was showing power only when the brake was being applied. I used a jumper wire from green to the red and white and the brake lights do come on when they are applied. So then I was browsing online and saw that 9 times outta 10 its a stress break in the solder that causes these to go south. I pulled out the old magnifying glass and saw the culprit, re soldered the board and now it works again. Thank goodness because that part is worth a small fortune at the dealer.

Now on to the hazard light situation...............
