Kaan W
Hey guys, I really want to get the engine out my car soon to make things easier for smoothing out the bay. I had a quick look in the footwell today to find which electrical connectors need unplugging and it seems the syvecs is wired in to the stock ecu. Does anyone know the best way to remove the engine from the syvecs? It seems however I do this I will need to chop some wires anyway. Any help will be appreciated

Kaan W
syvecs wired into the stock ecu? the stock ecu should be gone? I dont know whats happening theres so much I need to know as I bought the car that already had this done. I understand the stock ecu is just there to control th auto box. Im ordering a Titan auto transmission next week and am wondering if I can just run this from the syvecs and do away with the stock ECU. My engine is a mess! I have 2 water temp sensors too one in the top rad pipe elbow (syvecs) and the other in the top waterneck what ever its called the stock position. I asked ryan if I can just remove the stock sensor and keep the syvecs one and he said I need tthe stock one to keep the stock ECU happy. I hope I havent made that confusing

I just ask because my engine is so cluttered I need to find out what I actually need and what can come out.

Geo
Does anyone know the best way of seperating the syvecs from the engine before I go chopping wires as I havent got a clue what im doing. Cheers Best bet would be to jump onto the Syvecs forum and ask there mate, or drop Ryan an Email rather than a PM dude and ask him
mellonman
if you havent got a clue what your doing i wouldnt attempt it your self mate,i see that your going to declutter the bay which does involve electrical knowledge, correct size wires are needed and the running of new routes, maybe have a chat with hodge about how hard the job is as he has done this a few times now. you could always trace the wires and see if they are used but will take time. this job is very important to get right other wise you could have all sorts of electrical issues. as extending and joining wires adds resistance which can make things act differently. Guigsy
If you don't know what your doing leave well alone. Dont risk buggering something up just for a clean engine bay. Besides, having things hidden away in the bay just makes things harder to work on. Ryan will have wired it all up properly. Don't worry about that. Well I know how to solder and am planning on relocating the fuse box, igniter and battery but I just need to know if theres a certain way of seperating the syvecs from the engine. I also want my abs and traction removed so will trace them wires back and delete them from the loom before I wrap everything back up nice and neat. Cheers guys
Guigsy
Why on earth would you want to remove abs? It's like removing the airbag and installing a metal spike
Kaan W
Why on earth would you want to remove abs? It's like removing the airbag and installing a metal spike Just for the shear fact that im not using this car to race or emergancy stop in snow nor will it be a daily driver, I just want a nice clean looking engine bay. Anyway if I was ever in a situation that I needed my abs im obviously driving like a d**k!
mellonman
removing the abs on a single turbo that you have had for a couple of months is brave is all im going to say racing or not you have a sigle turbo and are tempted to use it,i remember when my abs was up the creak worst month of my life driving the supra
Rob_Mitchell
I aint got ABS either. I seriously going to look into that titan box after christmas. Who did you talk to at titan?

I asked my dad about this and he said every muscle car hes owned has never had abs and hes never had problems, even tho they weigh alot more than a supra. To be honest ive never felt the abs kick in on any car ive ever had. Maybe im not driving it hard enough

Just be careful when pulling away and racing as the back end is lively, like you say, there made for nice straight open roads

Full boost traction off I have UK brakes but will probably go for an upgrade at some point.
