Supra N/A clattering Noise

Ok so I was out driving the supra, when all of a sudden it started making this clattering noise, and now it has no power at all D:

I thought it could be the bottom end, or possibly a spark plug, but I'm no mechanic, wonder if anyone else has any ideas?

No power you say..... It's an N/A bud you'll get used to it ;)

Does it move at all? Gears working? How long you had the car? The noise; metallic sound I assume? Front or rear of the car?

Doesn't sound like it'd be a plug though.

Any lights on the dashboard? Is it a auto or manual? Any hesitation on idle or just accelerating? Is it mis-firing?

If need be mate pm the turtleshead he has a good n/a lump he might be willing to sell

Ha!, I could see that joke coming a mile off, even before I typed it.

Yes it does move, especially in the torque bad it pulls fine, but as soon as it gets the power band it just doesn't accelerate as quickly as it should. Gears work fine and yeah I'd say it was a metallic sort of noise and its coming from the front of the car, definatley from the engine.

No lights on the dashboard, its a manual, it's maybe idling a bit rough, possibly misfiring, but I'm not sure.

and cheers Adam, I might PM him in a bit,

I shall try and put a video up, so everyone can get a better idea of the noise.

Lexus 400.

It looked mechanically complete and nice and clean and well maintained and original under the bonnet, other than 2 springs I took from the throttle body. :innocent:

Oh nice, thanks for the heads up buddy, :O give me them back! I shall let you know how it goes when I get a chance to give him a ring.

Don't forget to factor in a rear sump if you get an LS400 lump....

And I have a spare complete 1UZ throttle body :)

Or you could break yours for parts and buy my Aerotop that already has a V8 :D

Rear sump?

I'd love to mate, any idea how much I'd get if I broke mine? But really I doubt I'd be able to afford it, and if I don't/didn't buy it mate, my friend is seriously considering buying it, but it won't be for a few months until he's sold his Clio :)
