Supra or GT-R

Now this is my opinion - Surely the Supra is more fun to drive...It’s a pretty basic car.

Don’t get me wrong the new GTR is an amazing piece of machinery and technology and fair play to those who have moved on and got one, you are not going to be disappointed with it... it is clearly amazing and far more useable than the Supra.. and IMO comparing the two is like comparing Meat and Veg there are no real similarities other the fact they are both a car (like meat and veg are food).

But consider this...It’s a sunny day you are hurtling into a corner either on a track or country road...what gives you more sense of achievement and therefore excitement?

Grappling with a Supra on hard braking before turn in, feathering the throttle and making split second direction changes on the wheel when going through the bend, then to hammer the throttle whilst controlling the weight shift with the wheel on the way out of a corner.

Or

Turn in with a slight sense of excitement, letting the ECU handle the immense number of driver aids, and then hammering the throttle only for the ECU to tell you "nah... I will decide on what to do", yes you are probably quicker than the Supra but what leaves you with more sense of self achievement?

Obviously this now can be changed with the likes of Ryan developing Syvecs ECU for the GTR you can claw back that excitement, more power, change the Traction control settings etc.

But with a bog standard GTR on a track or country road I would take a Supra over it, it’s just more fun and surely that’s 50% of driving a fast car (some people it’s more).. You want to drive the car… Not be driven by it.

This is my opinion though... You see I prefer Man vs Machine rather than Man vs Computer.

Have you ever driven a R35 GTR? my guess is no, GTR's are amazing fun to drive and you can hang the tail out as much as you want, plenty of videos about on the net.

Supras are good fun, but imho you cant compare the two, a R35 GTR is 20 years ahead of the game.

I havent driven one hard no, only a demonstrator..

I am sure that GTR's are fun to drive hard but I am not talking about hanging the tail out.

I am talking about going around a corner fast. When you have done all the hard work in my opinion is far more fun and rewarding then letting a computer do it.

And I agree you cannot compare the two, like I said Its like comparing Meat and Veg the only comparison is that they both are a car.

The GTR is years ahead of the Supra... there is no comparison.

I was not knocking the GTR's abilites I am just saying what I prefer.

Still I am waiting in bated breath to find out what you are doing in yours :D

Can you get one for £30K? Looking at PH there are none for that money. The cheapest ones are decent mileages aswell. Best of the lot looked like one with 16k miles for £36K

Not sure what country the OP is in, In the UK you wont get a decent R35 for £30,000.

Well, he said 30,000 euros, but still. Maybe he's speculating. I don't know.

If you take into account that not everyone can do work to there own cars or happen to know a specialist that lives within sensible range then they end up having maintenance done at Nissan and they don't use lubricant!

No oil in the cars or dry bumming at the service desk?

For £30K I would have this..!!
