RastaMc
HI guys.... I've made a swap from my N/A to a VVT-i twin turbo J-spec. Awesome the power and how fast the car goes. Also the sound with a 3" pipe Blitz Nur Spec R is fabulous. But I've a trouble.... When I accelerate the car, parking as well as driving, the engine logo/symbol (lamp) on the dashboard turns ON. The car doesn't manifest any problem at all, but I don't know what can be wrong with the motor, ECU or something else. Does someone has experience with this? And I've a question... On the suction pipe after the air filter, there is the MAP sensor situated. Can you eliminate this ITEM? Or locate it somewhere else? The point is that it doesn't has the same diameter of the suction pipe and I don't know how to locate it. Cheers
Alex
Its not a MAP sensor it's a MAF. And no you can't replace or remove it - it's integral to the VVTI's tuning via the stock ECU. The only way to replace/remove it is to not use the stock ECU at all.
EMPEROR
The warning light most probably is due to the Traction Control not connected (which is integrated in the engine ECU). You need to do some wiring (5 wires from the ECU to the ABS ECU + Trac button). As for the MAF - Alex already answered you.
RastaMc
Thanks guys for the information. Seeing that my car doesn't have neither TC nor ABS I think this is probably the issue. I'll find out how to fix this with the mechanic. If anyone know how to fix it, please.... If I fix it I'll share "how to do this" in this thread. JODY T
Do what I did and remove the bulb lol
Guest darrenhopper
+1 for remove the bulb. The ECU on my N/A swap doesn't seem to be too upset about having a few systems disconnected.
JODY T
There is a white connector on the engine loom that usually plugs into the car loom on the passenger side.. If it is plugged in remove it and see what happens.. I didn't have a place to plug it in and mine is fine..
