Shit shit shit shit shit.

If you go through the council are they going to want you to have public indemnity insurance and all the rest of the blah?

What I find odd, is that the wheelie school utilises Mr Mash's part of the airfield, so he must already have the insurance. Oh well, at least we know now, when people turn up on sunday they can see the potential themselves, and we can organise a bigger / better one for next time around - with the councils blessing. :D

OK, i went to bed last night again thinking about it again and felt a little more positive.

Im just looking at a timing slip i have and we can record....

60ft times

330ft times

1/8 mile time/speed

As you can imagine this is pretty high tech equipment so will record and measure almost everything possible in the space we have. I need to practise with it when i can get some time but im sure we can have the data printed out so you can compare your gear changes etc.....

Does explain why the gates are there if the airfield is own by 2 people. Also explains a couple of other things that i've wondered about the air field. I would guess the lower part needs permission as it can be seen from them road. If the lower gates are open i guess we could do 1/4 but not with the club. It would be a group of private individuals :D.

The surface is grippy so stopping in a small space isn't an issue, but from 100MPH+ is pushing it so how about 1/5 of a mile.

With local council redtape i'm not surprised it would take 8 weeks.

how accurate is the timing gear?

my first taste of drag racing was 1/8th when i was standard and it was still good fun to take part in. surely the stoppin distance will be good for bpu supras as they trap anything from 100mph to 116mph dont take too much to stop even on jap brakes. look at how much distance you have at santapod.even at york dragstrip you dont have that much extra track.

the big power cars may have hard time. sounds like a good day out.

60ft times

0-60

0-100

1/8th

1/4

John, jump in another car and pop along. Should be a good Supra turn out :D

Will be good to have some head to head races. People may wanna bring their digital and video cameras as im sure there'll be loads of stuff to excite everyone.

As Mark says, we still can do 60ft times, 0-60, 0-100 and 1/8th. Plus the timing gear can work up to 2 miles away and the A41 is fairly close
