Kaan W
Solid mounts will be fine Kaan, great build btw. Thanks Nicholas I've been going through ideas to try and avoid solid mounts but the turbo is so tight it's gunno scratch the strut tower with movement. What I'm going to try first is TRD mounts and also skim the exhaust manifold flange to a slight angle, ie a couple of mm taken from the side closest to the head to give it a slight slope. This should gain 3-4mm between the turbo and strut tower. If that doesn't work then I will try an engine movement damper which bolts from the intake side of the engine to the passenger side strut tower. I'm not too keen on the look of these so if I get fed up with it then I'll resort to solid mounts

I'm sure it will suit a 3.4 perfectly I had the PT7175, with open housing was laggy, if he gets this one with the GT42 housing and divided hot side it will be an epic turbo IMHO. http://www.precisionturbo.net/Street-and-Race/ss/800-1-000HP/details/Street-and-Race-Turbocharger---PT7175-GT42-Style/

jay200bhp
can you fabricate a small scallop to clear the turbo on your strut top ??
Kaan W
can you fabricate a small scallop to clear the turbo on your strut top ?? I could but it would involve too much work and a respray again. I should have thought about this when doing all the work on the bay. Hopefully skimming the exhaust manifold flange works enough for it not to hit. Kaan W
Finally finsihed the brake lines today, the last one to do was the drivers front brake which comes straight from the cylinder downwards into the wheel well. I was going to use a rubber grommet but instead made a feed through hole from a 10mm bolt and stainless steel dome nut with a 7mm hole drilled through the middle. Here is where it comes through into the wheel area. Also replaced the standard M6 nuts that hold the cylinder with stainless steel dome nuts. Finished -

mattdavies
Chris Wilson would be a good person to ask. Everyone goes for RBF 600 I believe in DOT5.
Dnk
Motul RBF 600 or 660 but DOT 5.1 will do the job. Dont use DOT 5 as it's silicon based
