Guest INEEDBOOST Posted August 17, 2012 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Sorry guys new too this forum, Firstly is the starter located under the intake manifold under the oil filter?I have a 1993 supra na manual my starter motor is going i bought a second hand starter motor, the serial numbers are not the same, does it still matter i thought it would be the same? Or is it different? On my car:28100-46150 228000-1970 Both denso The one i bought:28100-46080 128000-9291 my friend had a look and said it looked like a heavy duty starter, if you guys could please help it would be helpful, and also have done a battery test and it's fine. Shane Posted August 17, 2012 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Pretty sure that the NA one is a bit beefier to cope with the higher compression ratio. The starters do fail but can be refurbished quite easily. I would suggest using the smaller one for now to get you up and running and then get the failed one repaired and then revert back to it. I think there is a rebuild kit available from Mr T and if you do a search on here you will find the part No. Good luck and welcome by the way.
