dr_jekyll
hi guys and dolls, ive been offerd a 1jz sorer at a good price but it has a problem. basicly the guy who owns it tryed to jump start it and reversd the polarity (cables wrong was around) and now it turnes over but wont start. he said he has. changed all the fuses changed the efi relays fitted new batery i just checked the fuel pump and its running just wondering what els could be the problem is it likely the ecu is cooked ? i thaught not as the pump is running or possibly the ignitor pack cooked. the guy was just showing me the car and had to get back to work so i couldn check for spark ect but just wondering where to look as he said i can check a few things tomorrow on his lunch break ( gives me about 25mins )
Supra Gaz
I would of thought the fuse box would of taken the brunt of that. Weird. The ecu could have taken partial damage which would account for somethings working and not others. Has anyone got one you can plug in the check? Swampy442
The fuel pump will run as its got its own ECU like the Supra. Slave an ignitor it first, easiest thing but its very likely to have popped the ECU. Pull the error codes as well, see what it throws up. Swampy442
Tried the ignitor? And all the usual things like coil clips?
