Brazil's Build - Project (Do Luck V1)

Progress has been slow and communication with my tuning garage even more difficult..! Man they work so differently in Portugal compared to UK and USA where I am used doing business with..! For example I have been waiting for my tuner to reply to an email for over a week now. I like to him to confirm that the parts have arrived which he promised he would but nothing..! He was quite quick to reply when its time to get paid though..! Looorrd give me patience this Supra tuning business in Portugal is stressful. If I knew what I am going through now I would of been quite tempted to just go out and buy a new faster car. I think though its normal for at a stage of the supra build to be feeling this lack of Supra love..!

I received these photos about 10 days ago, this is the last I knew of the progress.

Chin up matey. It'll be worth it in the end. ;)

I hope so, I've not ever been in a single turbo supra so I have no idea what that will be like.

yeah man.. these things take time.

assume they cant reply cause they are so busy working on your supra .

What I have noticed is that the shop keeps prioritizing other projects, currently the most recent is the shops pink civic drag car that is going to the Santa Pod for the big competition.

Just wondering how you would change your carpets to red ? I looked everywhere as I was going to do this but couldn't find anywhere that does car carpets.

My Trimmers are taking care of that, I've seen some that they have done in the past and it turned out good.

Thank's all for the encouragement...! The only way I keep sane is when they send me photos of the update, so when several days/weeks pass I start to get frustrated.

My lappy has been giving me hell hence the reason fir not updating this thread, either way here is some recent pictures, I have been told the car is ready to turn key this week, so I will be getting together with Ryan G and loading the base map to check everything before he makes his trip down here.

Over all I am very happy with the finish quality, the only heart ache it's the length of time this project has taken!

Very nice mate! Glad you stuck with the build in the end. Please change the blue silicones off the turbo and throttle body for black ones though :D

Very good point with the black silicone hoses! Will get straight on it! I am just really looking forwards to having it home and doing minor mods to it which doesn't require the car to be off the road for so long!

Its finally happened..! Yesterday with the help of Ryan G by remote accessing to our computer here in Portugal we managed to load the base map and start the car. Here are a couple of videos filmed on my iphone, hence not the best of quality.

I know its early days to celebrate since we are yet to fully tune, still I like to thank Ryan G @ Syvecs + Lee P @ SRD, and all of you guys which make up this fantastic forum full of helpful information!

Tiago the owner of Ce dois Racing who built this car finished the project with an amazing quality finish, I am really impressed by his craftsmanship, it took a very long time this project since he is a one man army but the end product is at A1 quality. Congratulations Tiago..!

Time well spent by the looks of it buddy. Looks awesome.

Thanks buddy, I can't wait for its full mapping and to have it back home so I can drive it when I wish..! I am planning a complete cabin re-trim but first I plan to enjoy the car for a good bit..!

I have now made a decision for a forward plan, the shop where my car is at, will be fully build my engine, give assistance to Ryan G. once car is ready to tune and use of their rolling road hand over car in perfect condition to drive away for a total cost of 400 pounds 'Labor' charge only 'I will supply the parts'.

Together with the help of a lawyer I have drawn up a contract that clearly states that if there is any mechanical failure of the car till the has been fully tuned on rolling road and road test that the garage will be fully liable to have it put right with like for like parts.

My brother lives in Houston Texas and to my luck he is going to be able to hand carry the parts with him on the plane since he is coming to spend Christmas with us ‘family’. I am going to wait also till black Friday sales ‘29th November’ to order and hopefully an extra discount for purchasing the lot at once.

I have some doubts though, in regards to the piston and bearing sizes, what sizes am I best to buy to make sure it will be applicable for my application? I will be sending the block to be machine shop so if I go for 87mm piston and standard size bearings will I be ok?

Here is the spec list for my built engine so far:

• CP Pistons for Toyota Supra MK4 87mm?

• Brian Crower 2JZGE BC625+ Connecting Rods

• ARP Main Stud Kit For MKIV

• ACL Race Series 2JZG Rod Bearings (Std Size)

• ACL Race Series 2JZG main Bearings (Std Size)

• ACL Race Series 2JZG Thrust Bearings (Std Size)

• Titan Motorsports Dampend 2JZ-GTE Crank Pulley

• Magnetic Oil Sump Plug

• OEM Oil Pump

• OEM Oil Squirters

• OEM Core Plugs
