ripped_fear
So how many years do you think it had been running ? Enjoyed watching it though.
Morpheus
So how many years do you think it had been running ? Enjoyed watching it though. I think his top ring gap was too tight and the temperature spike seized or welded the piston, given that it was stuck in the block. What do you think? Shame he didn't knock it out to get a better look. I love armchair engine diagnostics!

SupraDan24
I can't be sure, but i think it may have pulled the gudgeon pins straight out of the piston.....possibly.
Morpheus
I can't be sure, but i think it may have pulled the gudgeon pins straight out of the piston.....possibly. The question to me is why it happened. The downward yank from excessive rev's and piston inertia is normally the culprit but it's not clear exactly what caused the failure here. One can only presume material failure if it ran for three years. The engine, not the video.
pedrosixfour
Good to see Tom was reintegrated into the workforce, I guess his condition is less noticeable (dare I say unperceivable?) when viewed against Australian standards.
