Geo
what do you think is up with it? symptoms?
Durandal
When mine failed, it stuck open making it really hard for the turbos to spool and generally acting like a boost leak. Just take it off and see if you can blow through the big pipes.
Guest optimus
hard to explain but yes seems to be hard work for turbos to spool, and it just feels like its struggling.the other thing is that if i floor it in 2nd it wont make a bar but then 1.2 in 3 4 5 6. but still feeling like its struggling. Thanks for that il try blowing down the pipes Edited August 12, 2012 by optimus (see edit history)
bodilx6
Also, you might experience the opposite. That it won't release pressure and you will get compressor stall with the well know ch-ch-ch sound. Do you build boost as you should? Guest optimus
thanks for responses,i think it makes boost ok,but i dont know anybody with one to compare it too.but other people talk about spinning wheels in 2nd yet mine wont and after building boost its almost asif that boost isnt then getting to the rear wheels if you know what i mean.but as i said floor it in 2nd and it only makes about .8 of a bar and falls off but then in 3rd makes 1.2 and holds it,but still seems like its hard work to spool up.have checked bov cant blow through pipes. Durandal
I thought it was normal to have less boost in 1st and 2nd gear than say 3rd-6th.
bodilx6
That sounds about right. 1st and second usually dont go above 1 bar. Maybe if held in 2nd, don't remember. If you pull 1.2 bar in higher gears, and you don't hear a very loud ch-ch-ch sound, then all is well with your BOV. You shouldn't get wheel spin in 2nd unless its cold or you have crappy or very cold tyres.
CanisLupus
Check your VSVs etc. of the sequential System. In Second it should get 1.2. First is often too short for the valves to open and start the second turbo.
