Guest ttype
Just did a swap and have a 94 TT motor with 6spd tranny in my 94 Spura. I put fresh oil in the tranny, bled the clutch, and also adjusted the pedal travel engagement (its set in the middle). Problem is, when the clutch pedal is right to the floor, it makes a loud scoring noise. Once the pedal is a inch off the ground the noise is gone. There is also no noise when the clutch engages and starts to move the car. Its just when the clutch pedal is in that certain spot. All gears work fine and are easy to put in any gear (including reverse) with no grinding. The clutch also grabs very well when its engaged. Is there an adjustment for this issue, or is this a pilot bearing or something like that?
David P
Maybe the Spura spigot bearing?
Chris Wilson
What clutch are you using? you shouldn't adjust the pedal pushrod on a stock clutch, you may well get over travel. What, pray, is a "scoring" sound?
