Guest rekan
Alright everyone, let's get down to business. I have a 1996 Toyota Supra, 5spd, NA, 171K miles. It is leaking oil (and Power steering). I replaced the valve cover gasket not too long ago, yet there is still oil leaking in my garage. I havent really had time to fiddle and take apart things, so I was hoping you all could point me in the right direction. Attached is a pic of where the oil and power steering are leaking relative to the car itself: The leak on the right (if you're facing the car) is the power steering, and the one on the left is oil, which Im sure you guys knew. Thanks!
Chris Wilson
Could be anything, would be total guesswork based on those pictures. That floor is disgustingly smart and clean, it *NEEDS* some oil on it anyway
Supranature
I'm betting the power steering leak will be at the right side of the bumper mouth where it comes in from the wheel arch.
Guest rekan
UPDATE: So far, we think its the distributor o-ring. Got one of them for 3 dollars, breakin the bank right there lol I sprayed the whole underside of it with brake cleaner and we'll lift it up tomorrow to see if there's anymore leaks. I heard something about the rear main seal (where engine and transmission connect) and if that leaks, its a pretty big job. Hope not. As for the power steering, we gotta see where thats leaking from. It was everywhere when we checked, got it cleaned for now though
Guest rekan
Ok, so we replaced the distributor o-ring. I need to put something under my car to see if it stopped leaking oil. As for the power steering, it's the high pressure hose apparently. Im gonna buy a new one and see what happens from there
