Air conditioning fault

Recommended Posts

Hi boys and girls. Air con was not working. Just had my UK TT aircondioning cleaned checked with dye for leaks and re-gased. Was working great when it came back. Noticed that I could hear the pump swictching on and off on tick over. This has now stopped and its not getting cold again.........(only worked for 1 week).....any ideas before I take it back to garage that re-gased it. I noticed that in the handbook it said that there are 3 fuses that are associated to air-con.

One under bonnet on passenger side wing. checked ok.

Two that are part of instrument panel. (where is that situated) can they stop it working

Any ideas!

Cheers Ray

You could check they used the correct stuff that the handbook says to use?

Another thing would be if it's empty, from a leak developed after you got it back (the stress of using it heavily all of a sudden). You should be able to see the liquid in the window in the engine bay behind the toyota badge.

Hope it's something simple like that and not the pump.

Just a guess, good luck

You must be minted cause it costs a fair bit. I've been using it quite a bit too the now while it has been a bit muggy. If you use it that much it might just be empty??

I used a can of ezchill from halfords and re gassed it myself. It worked fine. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1344097104.181307.jpg

Cheers mate. Nothing in the little window, so it must have leaked. they said that they had tested it only 1 week ago and put dye in it. No leaks....I wonder. Anyway it will be back on Monday. If anyone else has any ideas, i'd appreciate your comments.

AC refrigerant doesn't work like that and should last a lot longer than a week before it loses

its cooling ability, 2-3 years easily on a system that's working correctly

To the op give Ibrar a call as he does AC re gasses and does all the checks etc

If its not leaked the gas then i'd guess the compressor could have a problem
