hogmaw Posted August 2, 2012 Share Posted August 2, 2012 The Supra was pulling hard to the left today and when I stopped the front left tyre looked quite flat, I went to the garage and it was only 10psi. Will this have damaged the tyre so much that I will need a new one? I'm a bit wary of going to a garage to ask because they bound to say I do even if I don't just so they can have my £300 for a new one; a lot of money of course, which I'd rather keep in my wallet. L18msy Posted August 2, 2012 Share Posted August 2, 2012 You might not see much damage from the outside, might be better taking tyre off rim and checking inside. Dnk Posted August 2, 2012 Share Posted August 2, 2012 Probably about 10-15 miles, I can see some wear on the sides where it must have made contact with the road Thats quite a distance on a very low pressure so i'd guess it must have deformed the sidewalls quite a lot and the lips of the rim tend to cut into them. -Welsh-Stealth- Posted August 2, 2012 Share Posted August 2, 2012 If tyre wall is run on& it's scrubbed out the inside wall. As above can cause lumps/bumps/egg shapes& even blow outs.
