carl0s
quite a rarity! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-TOYOTA-SUPRA-3-0-TWIN-TURBO-SILVER_W0QQitemZ4567777942QQcategoryZ18290QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Homer
There can't be many of those left available, 337 cars built in 02, based on previous stats around 10% will be 6 spd's, so thats one of only 34 odd in the world.
crimbo
This may be a dumb question so don't laugh But didn't they stop importing them offically in 98?
JustGav
Somebody obviously got lucky and snuck it in before the SVA rubbish... Same as my 99 VVTi...
Fire148
Just in case anyone wants to know, the reserve is set to £14,495 ...
chilli
How do you know that then Fire148??
Fire148
Because I entered a bid of £15,000 (by mistake - oops!), and it went to £14,495 and said RESERVE MET. Unfortunately I had to retract my bid as I entered the wrong amount
JohnA
reasonable reserve. The car doesn't yet need an MOT, how cool is that?

merckx
Not sure about this SVA thing. Does this mean if a car was imported and registered before the requirement for a SVA that it would be road legal. Do you need any documentation that should come with the car? Willson
This may be a dumb question so don't laugh But didn't they stop importing them offically in 98? Its an import edit - oops, sorry I thought you were referring to the official imports ie UK cars.
DShox
This SVA business - if was imported before April 2004 it would have successfully passed the E (Enhanced) SVA test assuming it came through proper channels. If this garage didnt do their homework (and not many who aren't import focussed did get caught out!) then it will not have passed ESVA (as post April 2004 all cars 97 onwards need to be tested against a Model Report). The Model Report (which is done in a lab with a sample Supra Twin Turbo) does not exist for this car because the emissions do not comply with EU levels. If a car don't have an ESVA certificate, you can't get it registered at the DVLA and therefore you can't get a legal number plate. Lots of late model car adverts hide the number plate for this reason - there is a 97 on ebay that nobody is touching for this reason I expect. If you wanna catch em out ask: "will i be the first owner?" - a trader will love to say "yes sir, absolutely!" - well that tells you its a fresh import and so be weary. Police do like to hang behind you and do the checks - very easy to press the pedal just a bit and add 20 mph to your speed right away too! Hope this helps. Supragal
if this is the car I think it is (as above) it's been in the country for ages so therefore it'll be fine
Pete
You only need the SVA report TO GET THE CAR REGISTERED. Forget the SVA. It has a number plate. Check the reg docs match the plate/frame no/model/colour. If they match the vehicle type it doesn't matter.

DShox
Sorry but i disagree - no SVA means no registration and therefore DVLA can't give you the letters/numbers to go and get a legal plate made. I COULD go and ask anyone to make a number plate for me a bang it on any car i fancied - but would you buy from someone who runs a business like that...cos i wouldn't. DShox
right so thats why you go on to say 'forget the sva etc etc' - dont make any sense. there is only one way to register a car - and thats correctly. anything else is nonsense.
