problem getting the car started, spark plugs or starter?

So the car has been sitting for a few months just been started up here and there to be moved.

When I turn the key the car sometimes won't turn over, there will just be a CLICK sound, nothing basically happens.

So it may take a few tries before the car starts to to turn over but its just struggling to start. It will barely start and somtimes won't hold and idle and will just die. So I have to keep my foot down on the gas and keeping revving it for about a minute, and then the car will actually stay on. Once it runs for 15 minutes or so and warms up, the idle will rise to about 900 and runs as it should.

Does this sound like spark plugs? or possibley something is up with the starter?

Have you tried jump starting it ? then actually take it for a run rather than leave ticking over on the drive or move it then turn it off ?

The battery wont like not being used, i have this issue with my car as i rarely use it these days so i pop a jump pack on it, fire it up and take it for a decent run before parking it back up.

Well after I got it started well today I did take it for a spin around and ran just as it should, before all of this I DID put a new battery in actually.

but then when I parked the car for a couple of hours and the engine cooled I was having this problems like I described that it has a little hard time starting.

I had a similar problem when I first started mine after sitting for a while. It was a mix of starter points and the plugs being shot. Replaced starter points and it cured the 'click' problem from the starter and the plugs cured the idle. I think (imho) that 2jz's are very sensitive to plug condition, moreso than other engines I've tinkered with.
