Gaz6002
This is the real deal - a PROPER race car. Just needs turbo(s). http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/43723/toyota_supra_british_gt.html
marc_p
Nice, not a bad price either, would be worth buying just to strip for parts.
Abz
£23k for an NA Which has been restricted to 480bhp Does seem to have a serious amount of kit like Marc mentioned! Them brake kits alone are worth a few bobs not to mention the fueling system.
sideexitsupra
Much lower spec than SteveL or Paul Whiffs cars. No information about its success (or lack of) either.
Gaz6002
Much lower spec than SteveL or Paul Whiffs cars. No information about its success (or lack of) either. I didn't know their cars were built to GT3 regulations. Besides, engine spec isn't everything Edited July 27, 2012 by Gaz6002 (see edit history)
Rob_Mitchell
I know the owners/builder of that! Graham is a nice chap, i bought a couple of supra's off him in the past
Kirk
Hold on are they really suggesting that NA has 400+hp or have I missed something here?
Gaz6002
Hold on are they really suggesting that NA has 400+hp or have I missed something here? They've taken the turbos off. It says at the bottom...
Kirk
So the answer I was looking for was yes
Abz
Hold on are they really suggesting that NA has 400+hp or have I missed something here? Yes you are, they have "Restricted" it to 480bhp

More power doesn't mean a lower spec! Looks good from the spec sheet and photos, would be nice to have a look at it in person. 4 bolt mains! Wonder how they did that? Rob_Mitchell
I can try and get some more info on this, ill drop Graham a email later. His son has been racing for a very long time and they are no micky mouses
johnny g
In race spec, the 2JZ can see over 500bhp, even in N/A. It just won't be driveable (within reason) on the roads.
Gaz6002
It was restricted to 480bhp with the turbos, but they removed the turbos to go single. The car is capable of more. It doesn't say it was 480bhp NA.
sideexitsupra
I started to respond and list why Steve's car was superior, but then I thought why bother. Maybe the keyboard warriors will take a look at the spec of Steve's car and explain how, other than having a FIA fuel cell, that car is a superior race car? Steve's car had a pedigree through Time Attack and also Eurosaloons and was highly developed. I wasnt just talking about power. Suspension, brakes and Aero all figure here along with race dashboards and plumbed in fire extinguishers that might get some excited. Maybe this car is exciting because it is not known on here, but please, do not make out is unique or in any way better than the Whifbitz cars. It is different and built to meet a different set of regulations and wouldnt see which way the Whifbitz cars went on track.

Gaz6002
wouldnt see which way the Whifbitz cars went on track. It would be interesting to see if that really is the case with equal power-weight ratios

ManwithSupra
Good price if you want to spend another £6k making it run.. Not sure what makes this a Serious Race car though (apart from the fact it meets a set of particular regs).. or am I Just stirring up a bowl of ....
