After a 1330 mile round trip for "operation brake caliper repair" the end result is....FAIL :( :( The caliper is still down at godspeed brakes and they are awaiting the new bleed nipple to arrive and then rebore it to an M12x1. Hopefully get it back by the end of the week, if it has worked and everything goes to plan! If not then i will need to buy a new AP racing brake caliper :(

I cant believe you are still trying to save a jspec caliper on a car with almost double the power the brakes where rated for, and thats the best potion concidering toyota them selves deemed them not fit for purpose on a TT ;)

Im not even using the car mate, its been parked up since wednesday :) Wouldn't want to use it with that Jspec on lol, was bad enough driving the few miles home and i never went above 40mph lol

I think you already know where you are going with this or should lol

Even if the jspec was 100%

Today has been a day of chasing up the brake repair cause i am getting slightly annoyed now, after a few failed phone calls i got through and found out the part STILL hasn't arrived to fix my caliper! A 2 hour job has taken 9 days now (and counting) and nothing STILL hasn't been done! Starting to take the piss now and I'm getting annoyed!! I've been lucky and ben has a set of AP's sitting at his that i can borrow untill i get sorted, so i need to phone tomorrow again and see if the part is there OR phone AP racing and get a quote for a replacement caliper :( I miss not being able to go out and enjoy roads that lead me to places like this...

On the plus side i have managed to fix my rear fog light bulb and also track down some OEM footwell lights lol.

A quick update for anyone that's interested on how i am getting on with my brake repair..

I've just got off with the "brake specialist" that has been dealing with my caliper repair for THE FINAL TIME! A 2 hour job that should of costed £40 has now resulted in 11 days with NOTHING being done due to them not having the correct part in stock, i am now £355 down because I've had to buy a full UK spec front brake set up just to get the supra back on the road AND pay for the postage of my AP caliper to be sent back to me! At least i will have the car back on the road by the weekend and be usable until my big caliper is repaired (If it can be done).

To say i'm starting to lose the love of the car is an understatement, I've missed so much nice days and perfect driving opportunities because of all this problems! It doesn't help i have recently bought a decent supply of methanol for the nice weather, and fitted line lock for some fun and haven't had the chance to test it, let alone use it :(

Sorry to hear that. However at least it's not £355 wasted. You'll be able to enjoy the car again and the love will be back instantly.

If you can repair the ap brakes then that's terrific. And you'll prob be able to sell the UK's on for what you paid. If the AP can't be sorted at least you'll have a replacement set of brakes that are up to the task.

That's the plan, hopefully it can be repaired and then i will sell the UK brakes on. I just hope i get the time to fit them before the weekend! It sucks driving the 7 series all the time lol

Thats cr@p mate. If and when you get your caliper back. If you can re tap your caliper. I may be able to get you a 7/16unf bleednipple. which is the next size up from m10x 1mm. if you wont i can send you one. if they still have them.

I'm going to invest into that nipple therapy kit i think, looks like a great and should hopefully do the job!

**Thought i better add the video incase Ed or Graham get excited with the sound of nipple therapy :p **

Fingers crossed for you. and Lol don't have much sympathy when you have a nice 7 series as an alternative. When my cars off the road having anything done I'm stuck with public transport :(
