jimojameso
Hello all, Little update on wheels. I have never been completely happy with the offset and dishes on my bbs lm's. A lot of the porsche guys reverse mount them to improve the look and lower the offset so I thought i would give it a go. I stripped the wheels down removing all the original black bolts. I then got the lips polished up to a mirror finish by a polishing specialist near where i work. To say i'm pleased with them is an understatement. I ordered 80 new silver forged stainless bolts from germany and reassembled the wheels. Only this time the faces are now mounted on the inside. You effectively get about an 8-10mm lower offset by doing this and it also makes the lips look much larger as the inside bit is not covered by the face. I hope you like the results. If you decide to do this make sure you assemble/disassemble your wheels with the tyres deflated. Also always tighten the bolts in a star pattern to the recommended torque. BBS recommend 19LB/FT for LM's with blue threadlock. Bolt Size is M7 X 24mm. Before the suspension had settled back down. New shiny bolts!!! About to reassemble. On the way back from the polishers in the golf. How they used to look. I also fitted my new engine cover. Thanks to Paul Whiffin. Nic
Wheels look good but that looks like a lot of negative camber on the back.
jimojameso
Wheels in motion set it up for me to their recommended settings for fast road use. I'll get it checked next time i get new rubber. The drive is very uneven so maybe just a lump in the driveway.

kwalker705
how'd the centres fit inside the barrels on your LM's ??? were they a tight or loose fit ?? speedwells refurbed my wheels and I'd asked them to refit the centres from the back...exactly as you have. But Ibrar was worried about doing it as the centres wernt a tight fit into the barrels from the back so he decided agains doing it in the end and mounted the centres the conventional way

Supranature
Are your tyres rotating the correct way now, ie. did you swap the reversed rims to the other side?

JamieP
Are your tyres rotating the correct way now, ie. did you swap the reversed rims to the other side? Wheels are not reversed, the center part of the wheel is just bolted on from the inside instead of the outside.

Josh
They look good. I'd like to get my rears 10mm or so further out. One concern I raised before was that the outside edge is slightly rounded and the side that sits on the lip is flat. Did they fit on ok mounting from behind? jimojameso
Yeah they fitted fine. Will keep an eye on the bolts to make sure they stay tight. I followed the correct bbs torques, etc, so should be ok. The porsche guys seem to all do it without any problems.
