6th gear stutter issue

Hi guys,

been reading on here for a while now since I got my car, didnt have any problems until i started to mod it :) hope someone can help.

car: 94 JDM TT 6spd BPU

recent changes: Just installed greddy bcc following mkiv.net install guide setting the voltage to 4.28 just under 4.3. ECU is #(89661-14501) I even checked to make sure the voltage settings were the right ones. Double checked the wiring green to ecu white from Engine.

Problem: when in 6th gear 100km rpm 2000 if i put the throttle all the way down to pass someone. The car will pick up speed untill boost gauge and boost controller reads about .5 bar (I have my boost controller set to .8 bar) then the car will studder and stop accelerating. If i back off a little bit and the boost drops .2 to .4 bar it will start accelerating again. If I drop a gear to 5th or 4th and get the revs up and go WOT(boost will hit .8 bar) then this doesnt happen and pulls hard to redline. If I turn off my boost controller and just run stock boost (with the greddy bcc still installed) this doesnt happen at all. Only happens when my boost controller is on. Would a boost controller make the car shake n stutter that bad? The whole car shakes as if I just got a puncture on my tire.

any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I'm with Ian on that. Could be coil packs or plugs. Pull the coil packs off and check then over. Then pull the plugs.

I diagnosed drift bears misfire at pod and look what we found. Spot the gubbed plug.

i set the %gain to zero i thought of that too.. but i will look into the coil issues and see how it goes! at least i have some direction, because im stumped for the last 2 weeks checked everything i could.

but if it was the coils then when i have the boost controller off. it will boost to .5bar to red line no issues same gear same speed and rpm. then i right away ill slow down turn it on then it will come back..would a boost controller cause it to shake that bad?

**UPDATE**

seems to be oil around the sparkplugs that was causing the issue, cleaned up the coils and the sparkplugs and runs great now! :)

on a side note

I saw that there was quite a bit of oil around 3 of the spark plugs. I noticed on the intake side of the sparkplug hole. There is a small hole in the side of the head i think and seems to be the same for the cylinders also not sure if this is normal.

in the image i attached its just the right of each spark plug.

**correction not the middle circle MS paint error lol! **
