TBDevelopments
Hello, Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum, I'm Tim and from the username I'm an Toyota 3sgte tuning company (please don't ban me I'm not trading in supras lol), been doing it since 1997 so doing quite well, although because my hobby was Mr2's the business has totally ruined that for me and I find myself being bored with anything I build for myself with the whole "been there and done that" feeling as its been done with customers cars and the excitement of how new modifications will perform on your pride and joy has gone. After doing everything from oil changes to a 955bhp 9 second drag car I felt it was time for something different as a personal hobby. So wanted something new but still staying Toyota with a mind that I could get a supra and like I did with the starlet and GT4 market use it as a learning curve and possibly then move into supras in future years hoping to find a nice facelift 6spd manual in white if possible. missed out on one that JM-Imports had for sale by a few hours of getting my deposit down, bugger guess its my fault for dragging my feet and asking to many question but un-phased still on the look out getting quite excited into getting my teeth sunken into something new. its like being a big kid all over again haha Anyway hope to meet some nice people in the club and hopefully i can find myself a supra soon and let the learning curve commence Tim

TBDevelopments
thanks guys, forum is very informative, was having a bit of a read about last night after I finished for the night working doing this race engine rush job at 4am, by the time I realised it was 6am and the sun was coming up haha. one good thing I' finding is the supra is very similar to the 3sgte I specialise in many respects, tuning principles are exactly the same so shouldn't take me long to transition at all It's nice to be already know in some degree, I'm hoping for all the right reasons lol. You want pictures of my mr2? or those big power customer mr2's i mentioned? I'm currently driving a Full Phoenix Power Mr2 as a toy, which i'm thinking about replacing for a supra (supras more subtle styled and a bit more grown up looking now) and as a daily shop run about and fetchit car a 1999 glanza (don't take the piss, 220bhp, 900kg's and still does 38mpg, and 13.9 1/4) If you fancied seeing some of the 3sgte engines I've done in the past I have a little website up but its not quite finished yet but has some nice pictures on there. go to gallery and if you want more pictures click on the main pic to open up more from the same engine. ...let me know what you think Tim Edited July 23, 2012 by Lbm removed link to OP's automotive company. Lbm
Tim Welcome to the club. I'll need you to change your name as it's directly linked to your automotive related company. So I'm going to give a name for the moment. I'm sure that you read the rules when you signed up, so you'll understand why. I've also removed the link from your post for the same reasons. You can let me know your preferred new name here or you can pm me. Thanks.
TBDevelopments
erm ok fair enough if that's the rules. I didn't think it would be a problem as I don't do anything for supras or intend to for now until I get to know them and then I'll ask for a trader status. I only put that as a username because that's what it is on every other forum and how I'm known. but ok don't want to rock the boat. Unfortunately that is a bad part from my history, I'll admit I was outspoken on a few issues, albeit no worse than anything else you read on a forum, but I guess it was about the wrong person. (ex-best friend who decided to start up a same business less than 1 mile away and tried to ruin my likelihood with lies and slander) but he was in with all the admin so after a video of him found its way onto the forum of him doing doenuts in a customers car that was in for a service in a local MCD's carpark that was the last straw and I was banned. But instead of leaving it and letting me go my separate ways they draw up huge amounts of slander and got me banned for numerous other forums (some I wasn't even a member on) and through contacting dealerships I had stateside saying i had be in ail for fraud and not to trust me (hahah can't even begin to comment where that came from) it lost alot of my supplier network and almost 75% of my work load at the time, after threatening court action for it just to stop, then the lies started about trying to shut the forum down. I just left it after that and that thread was written without any means of me allowing to defend myself or say my side of the story. I just started our own forum through the business name to get some kind of advertisement and in the first month 90% of the show going members joined and came with us to the following show in protest. This was a long time ago and I just look back at it with sad memories but like to add nothing was ever to do with my services, or work standard so at least they couldn't take that away from me, and alot of the forums that had refused me membership have actually gave me trader status on invitation after I've spent many years proving I'm not what they made me out to be. I'm hoping this won't come up again as its something I've tried to forget about and hoped wouldn't keep following me around. Also hoping the moderators will remove my post here once this has been resolved. TBDevelopments
no I understand, forum looks good and noticed the knowledge level is good. I guess I will just have to prove myself all over again in your eyes that I'm not the person they made me out to be. but at least it wasn't about my work, 15 years in the trade and not a single bad comment about my work i don't know many others that can say that. Tim The people here (minus myself and Lbm) are great and very helpful as a whole, People here are more interested in quality work and people that can have a laugh while passing on invaluable help and advice to the members for their own builds and problems that they have over hearsay about peoples pasts. Bad workmanship will always be slated here if it can be proved and backed up, The traders here are all subject to votes and slipping in standards have seen a few of what most would consider a big company being shown the exit door. Enjoy your time here. Edited July 23, 2012 by Graham1984 (see edit history)
TBDevelopments
see thats really good to know, i found from past experience it didn't matter what your work was like it all depended if you were "in with the click" as if you got on or not. If you were even the worst work would be covered up. Saying that i do always let me work speck for itself, i wanted to get some peoples opinion on my engine building gallery i posted but i guess i broke a little rule, oopps sorry about that. But even after all that what they tried to accomplish 3-4 years ago I still have a 8-10 month waiting list on work so can't be doing to bad. Hoping in the future once I get to grips with the supra I can offer services as a trader. As much as I love the Mr2 its nice to have a fresh start and seeing Mr2's and 3sgte's upto 20hours a day it gets a little soul destroying so a break and other cars is a welcome change i do that where i can anyway with advice, most people who txt me at 4am know this lol Tim Edited July 23, 2012 by TBDevelopments (see edit history)
