Jonnybravo2667
Hi everyone i have a problem with my o/s/r wheel rattling, symptoms are a rattle when that wheel hits a pothole and also i tested the wheel for play on the bearing. There no play if i hold the wheel at either side but there movement if i hold it at top and bottom, any ideas? Thanks for any replies
Nic
Get the car on a ramp, torque up all the bolts to manufacturers spec and check all the bushes, joints and bearings for wear. http://www.turbosupras.com/pdfs/JZA80%20TSRM/SA.pdf
straightsix
Possibly drop links but have you checked the tailgate rubbers for wear as my old Supra had a rattle that sounded like it was coming from the suspension but turned out to be these on one side. Guest samc82
I had the exact same probs mate turned out to be the inside bushes on the upper suspension arm were shagged ended up getting urethane bushes pressed in as a new wishbone was a ridiculous price
Dnk
If you have movement on the wheel holding it top to bottom then there's a good chance you have wear in the upper or lower arm bushes or ball joints. This might not be your noise though so as suggested get it on a ramp asap and do as Nic suggests first.
