Kip
Well guys I s**t you not - apparently the Fiesta gave the Supe a right royal pasting. I just need to know how and why. Cos like you Mikey, I just can't see how its possible. My old next door neighbour had a mod-ed Cosworth turbo 4x4 Sierra thingy and was pushing out about 375 horses and yes it was quick but nothing compared to a moded Supe pushing out in excess of 400 horses. The questions are : can an enginer of such magnitude be shoehorned into a Festa? and can it lay down the power through its front wheels quicker than a rwd Supe? I do need to see it to beleive it. michael
It'll be Sunny Khalsa's Fiesta - it topped out at 169mph at TOTB, I can't recall him racing a Supra but Andy Nicholl's Maestro beat Leon Green in the 2WD final. (Leon set off too early and got a red light)
lust2luv
That sounds like me! Yep, I lost to a Fiesta on the TOTB video, not really surprising, as I've a 1400kg 230ish BHP non-turbo Supra, running against a 1000kg 350ish BHP turboed Fiesta. I had a pretty good launch actually. GeordieSteve
Yeah I remember that. The fiesta was doing 11 second quarters. 400+bhp
michael
And it's stuff like that which made the original TOTB much more fun to watch, ordinary cars going up against each other... OK they weren't "Ten of the Best" but it still highlights the need for a support event on the Saturday called "Best of the Rest" (TM Megaboost Enterprises PLC) with more normal "average Joe" stuff. (Leon set off too early and got a red light) Actually his autobox overheated and wigged out It wasn't pilot error apart from maybe starting the powerbrake too early and got out-psyched on the staging. Andy's Maestro was completely mad though, wiped the floor with all the FWD boys so badly it was embarassing to watch He did it again at TOTB2 and at TOTB3 he still only had one major FWD competitor - another car he built lol. -Ian
