jumpbike
I have aquired an engine with hybrid turbos, not sure what conversion, just been told that they're "stage 3" but don't know what is ment by this, all i can think is maybe gt28 upgrade or similar. Anyway, supporting mods being a given, speaking about the turbos I would just like to know peoples thoughts about adding an external wastegate possible T-ing into a piece of pipe that bridges the 2 cast parts of the manifold. I am just thinking that with the Jap spec wastegate being useless, this would be a better option for controlable higher boost and also not having to run a resrictor in the exhaust have the Y pipe. Just 3" back from there. I know it has been thought about before but all I can find else where is people chatting balls. thanks,
Swampy442
That's because the idea itself is balls. Do some searching, hybrids rarely give the results promised, and rarely last long either. By the time youve done all the work you could have for a small single set up. Hence that's why people go single. Why make life hard for yourself? jumpbike
I dont want crazy results, just for them to work 'normally' if anything without having to bodge the workings of the system with restrictors and such.
Swampy442
Wouldn't call a restrictor ring a bodge, it's a safety net really. Many, many cars run 400hp+ at BPU reliably, is that good enough?
Nic
I dont want crazy results, just for them to work 'normally' if anything without having to bodge the workings of the system with restrictors and such. Fitting a restrictor ring is simple, cheap and it works. http://www.utahracing.com/supras/matt/matt94/wastegate/index.htm
jumpbike
400hp would be a nice start as it's going in a car that im not 100% on the strength of the drive train but that link to the wastegate upgrade is exactly what I ment. Got an idea both ways now anyway, cheers guys
