safcdixon
Could be something in the suspension system i think, drop links or a wishbone maybe, did you check the insides of your tyres, i had a big bleb on the inside one of mine last year, i took it too a mates garage too get the wheels balanced (thinking balanacing was off) and the tyre was goosed
listy
Have you checked the wheels themselves? Possible buckle?
welshbuddy
ahh i hope not , sounds expensive lol, got MOT next week aswell :S! nah i didn't check inside my tyres , dont know how i could ha! - - - Updated - - - Have you checked the wheels themselves? Possible buckle? havnt hit nothing + wouldnt i feel it at lower speeds as in 50ish also?
Guigsy
I had that. 70 it was fine 80 bad. 90 worse 100 dissapeared. My front 2 tyres although ballanced and plenty of tread were perished and cracked where I couldn't easily see. So apparently at those speeds they started to wobble. 2 new ones and it's fine. safcdixon
ahh i hope not , sounds expensive lol, got MOT next week aswell :S! nah i didn't check inside my tyres , dont know how i could ha! just jack one side up at a time and whilst underneath spin the wheel and just have a feel/look on the inside make sure theres no lumps on the tyre. listy
I had a buckled wheel, but had no effect at all. Was just a big bulge on the inside rim. Depending how bad it is, could effect it at higher speeds as the balance will be off. Could it be something as simple as the weights have come off the wheel and its no longer balanced? Dnk
Go to a good tyre shop and get the wheels/tyres checked and balanced would be the first thing i'd do
welshbuddy
ok Cheers guys ill pop to my local tomorrow ! thankyou.
Havard
Sounds like a wheel buckle to me. One of mine has a small dent on the inside. My tyre guy has balanced it out as best he can but I still know it's there. The vibration is not noticeable when driving.
sideexitsupra
Has your car been sat for a while? I had this issue when mine came out of winter hibernation. The tyres were flat spotted. New tyres solved the problem, balancing did not. Hope balancing works for you.

peter richards
also could be sticky calipers my rears went a few years ago , slow speeds could feel anything , but up over 60 and it felt just like you say a judder ,
supra joe
You sure it's not 88mph Doc ? Lol
straightsix
Have you tried the simple thing yet - check the air pressure?
Dnk
ever thought about just abiding the speed limit? lol When the tyre shop jacks your car up get them to spin the wheels before they come off and see if you have calipers that are starting to seize, getting very common now on these old buses You can also check for a higher heat build up around the center of the wheels when you get there as a sticking caliper creates more friction so one wheel could be a lot hotter than the others, be careful though and dont touch the wheel incase its v hot, check all four Edited July 7, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
welshbuddy
it could be the caliper! last time i got my brake pads changed my mate that changed them said that the caliper had siezed and he sorted it for the time being but then he said i would need to get a new one, so i might be on the look out for the rear brakes !! This could very well be your problem if you have had it before or could be another caliper on its way, jack the car up and see what each wheel spins like compared to the others

L18msy
I have had this problem for sometime now. During my time of ownership i have changed all wheels and tyres, full suspension, all the calipers etc. It is only now this vibration is really starting to annoy me. I think it is time to turn my attention to prop and drive shafts.
