Parry_10
I have an aftermarket throttle body on my car 100mm and its driving me mad. When the engine isnt running its fine but when the engine is running it starts to stick.. and sometimes gets stuck when driving and you have to blip the throttle to free it. Any suggestions what it could be? ive tried opening the butterfly more with the adjusting screw but the idle is at 1000rpm now so I cant really open it up anymore. help please

wallis
I had a very similar problem which turned out to be the accelerator cable sticking, as I had to relocate it with going single. When it got hot it started to stick, from the heat from the turbo!!! I had to buy a new one slightly relocate it and insulate the arse out of it..... Its been perfect ever since. hodge
Take the butterfly out the TB and polish the inside of the TB out a little. I had to do this with my last supra. Worked fine after that.

When I had it apart I used abit of sandpaper on the inside of the tb to take abit of material off got rid of the sticking but as soon as engine is running it starts to stick and seems worse when it is hotter and upto temp. _Shane_
I remember when i was collecting my supra from Colin @ SSI last year and when he picked me up in his supra the same thing started to happen on the way to his garage..... it was one hairy ride if im honest lol had to turn ignition off every now and then as we were on some dodgy back roads and the car was acting like it was on full boost all the time lol He stripped the TB back at the garage and gave it a good clean / polish, think that solved the issue
Parry_10
Its so annoying as you cant even pull away because the pedal is stuck you put more force to free it then you rev the car up to like 3k rpm and then you make the car jerk etc and look like a fool who cant drive! I can see me breaking this car for parts very soon its just one thing after another
_Shane_
Ah there is nothing worse when stuff like that happens, do you use your supra as an everyday mate?
