Ian C
Rear bearings need a 5 ton press or something to get them out, I don't know if that applies to the fronts? -Ian

Ian C
You may be onto a loser there mate I'm all for people doing their own thing, good lord yes, but there are some lines I draw Gearbox stuff and wheel bearings are two of them I pay other people to do -Ian
RobSheffield
hmmm, car is not registered, has no boot hatch, nose, interior, anythin on it any more - hell, no wheels or suspesnion either!! its either me to do it or a failed MOT in September! Pete
I'd do it too in that situation - What's the worst that could go wrong!?
JohnA
I wouldn't DIY wheel bearings mate - not without the proper tools. Chisel and hammer won't cut it.
Dale B
Listen to the man Rob ... theres no way you will be able to get the new bearing on the hub without a 10ton press, thats assuming you've CUT the old ones off, coz you need the same to get them off aswell. I made the mistake of taking mine to a local place that I "trusted" to do the work. To cut a long story short ... I discover the bloke had used a windy chisel to get the old ones off and then (even worse) attacked my hubs with an angle grinder to make the shaft small enough to get the new bearing on . So ... MrT got me a new hub and fitted new bearings. The coat of fiiting the bearing was only £120 (for both sides) which I thought was great value from Toyota. When they called me in to look at my f*cked up hub I saw the press they used to fit the bearing .... believe me, its not a small bit of kit. Pete
There's loads of places you could get the actual pulling and pressing done. Just look under engineering firms in your local Yellow pages.
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
if u can do all the work except the pulling and replacing bearing shouldnt be bad job, like rogue says and engineering firm can get this out, my mate did my old supra and he works for hubway big national firm.
