wallis
I was up at the farm today and thought I would put the supra on the weigh bridge for a giggle! Came in at 1520kg, now my car has been on a slight diet over the years but I thought stock surpas were 1700kg+?? Does anyone know the stock weight actually is and am I lightweight ....lol Any info would be great guys Cheers
JamieP
Sounds about right, mine was 1583kg with full steel roll cage, sub and amp in boot, big leather seats, That was before i went full carbon, should be mid 1400's now.
wallis
Ok kool, just realised I was in the car....lol And I'm 98kg so it's actually 1422kg! Dime bar!
JamieP
1422kg is very light, what have you removed?
wallis
Firstly I did only have a quarter in the tank, but was just thinking that Jaime? I mean I've changed alot on the car, fair amount of carbon parts, interior is stripped but do have a small sub and amp, but that was just under weight for weight from the rear seats! I guess wheels are lighter etc? Not really sure Jaime!
wallis
Add to that aircon removed and the sports rad was half the weight of the stock one!
wallis
Spare wheel, rear belts, one turbo also removed ;-)
JamieP
Stock j-spec TT supra is 1490kg Carbon bonnets are no lighter than stock, there is a fair amount to be saved with doors and tailgate, i saved 45kg with doing them iirc. Save about 15kg removing the AC iirc. I doubt 19" wheels/tyres are lighter than stock 16's

The more I keep thinking though the more I keep remembering, got the rear wiper motor removed and all the carbon fuel filter and got a light weight crank pulley...lol I guess alot of little items can add up to quite a loss? Nic
They are quite light cars compared to most stuff these days I was looking at the new Toyota GT86 specs the other day, it has a kerb weight of 1190kg-1250kg which I thought was very impressive given all the safety requirements these days. Nic
That's well impressive, crazy how things have moved forward! To put it in perspective that's a similar weigh to my 95 MR2, the GT86 is bigger and has 4 seats, only thing it's missing is a VNT turbo
