Ok after shopping and with Sky Insurance ending up with a disappointing service, I have a great renewal else were.

All mods declared, like for like cover. Car valued at £14k. Protected no claims. Total excess £350. Insured to drive anyone else's car. Up to £100,000 legal cover.

Little about me:

I'm 27 with 3 points SP30.

8 years no claims bonus (protected aswell:))

Had my licence for 9 1/2 years

I use it everyday as my daily runner so domestic use and pleasure. So I'm covered for all my uses.

Said I do about 4k a year

I do live in a pretty nice area (not to far from a crappy area lol)

£555 fully comp

Thanks HIC :D

Sorry, does it definitely cover commuting as well as SD&P? Only reason I ask is I got a quote from Competition Car Insurance for £560 ish but it didn't cover commuting. With commuting added it was another £200. I'm 33, 13 years NCB, no points, good area and an agreed value of £8500. Also didn't cover me for driving other cars :(

Dan yes it does mate. Competition car quoted me about £700

Sky Insurance said they could match any quote when I told them I was leaving but I asked someone when I got my renewal through and he said they can't do it any cheaper. I hate when insurance companies do that because that can do it cheaper to match someone elses price. But to be honest with skys ways of dealing with the match (i wont go into detail) I wont be returning to them..

  • 2 weeks later...

I too have had a quote from HIC.

33 Years old

13 Years NCB

Good Postcode Area

No accidents, claims or convictions

5000 miles a year, and insured as my main daily driver

£8500 agreed value

All mods covered

£700 Excess

Not covered to drive other cars

UK and European Breakdown

SDP and Commuting

£555.78

Not too bad I thought, although a high excess...

The £700 excess is a bit strong hence the £555 premium

Try LWIB

LWIB won't quote him as he's within 100 miles of Manchester and that spells trouble apparently.

My renewal is up with Lynbrook in September so I am looking forward to their quote. I paid £ 303 last year £15 for agreed value at £8500.

I just done a quote on a TT stock no mods used as my daily driver,

no accidents in the last 5 years,

no points,

driving 9 years,

6years NCB,

live in Gosforth Newcastle,

5k milage a year,

Full comp

350 excess

Only £296 for the year .

Was really happy with don't know if the fact it's a uk spec makes it a bit cheaper

Edit : im 27 forgot to say : )

It being a UK does help but it's still a great quote regardless :)
